Weeks 2-4 How the website is organised
The website provides all the information necessary to develop pupil understanding and prepare a presentation. Each section has a home page with links to:
Country profile –basic information about the country
Millennium Development Goals –looking at progress and obstacles to achieving the MDGs
Case studies – of development projects in the country
Activities – lesson plans to develop understanding, empathy and consider action
If computer access is not available for all pupils every lesson the following country activities can be printed off for use:
- Brazil: Explore life in a favela in Sao Paulo using extracts from the Favela Rising DVD and the photo pack Fala Favela

- Palestine: An activity using the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child to compare rights of young Palestinians with a pupil’s own rights. Look at the completed Worksheet for a young Palestinian to see how many rights are being denied. Click here
