Weeks 5-6 Preparing and making a presentation
While it is for each school to decide on their own form of presentation, below are some suggestions. Year groups could be split into classes taking a different country each, or looking at a specific Goal across the 5 countries or by having a class focus e.g a newspaper and sharing out the jobs.
- Prepare a powerpoint using visual images and commentary mixed with some key statistics presented in simple tables and graphs
- Write a class newspaper on the MDGs in a selected country/countries with pairs/small groups of students producing the different parts from relevant sections of the website:
- Title, price, headlines, editorial
- Country features
- Photos/artwork/cartoons
- Quiz on What are the MDGs?
- Human interest features
- Factfiles of country
- Campaign adverts
- Organise an MDGs campaign in school
- prepare MDG posters
- make MDG wristbands/friendship bracelets
- produce leaflets
- start a petition
- start a footprints to a Better World trail around school
- set up a campaign stall at lunchtime/special events
- bring this all together by presenting a school assembly
- Hold a Question time debate
- present briefings on the 5 countries
- present briefings on the Goals
- discuss key questions
- invite MP to attend
- Multi-Media/Drama/Art presentation to an audience
