G8 2007 Promise on Education for All

Thank you for JOINING UP! with millions of children, young people, teachers and parents who sent messages to world leaders, demanding education for every child. Read all the activities from around the world here.

Last week, eight of these world leaders met at the G8 summit in Germany. The good news was that they renewed their pledge to make sure that "no country seriously committed to 'Education for All' will be thwarted in their achievement of this goal by lack of resources". This is real recognition of the amazing effort put in by everyone involved in the campaign.

Unfortunately, we are still not there yet. We still need the breakthrough in terms of significant amounts of money being put forward to make this happen.

We still have time to make sure every child has a primary education by 2015, but we need to keep up the momentum.
